Gloria and Rowe Continue in Consolation at All-American

FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Melanie Gloria's bid to make it back to the All-American final was halted short by UCLA's Riza Zalameda on Friday. Zalameda topped Gloria 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 16 during the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American in Los Angeles.
In doubles, Gloria and junior Tinesta Rowe beat No. 6 Haney and Koning of Auburn 8-5. It was the first round of consolation play for Gloria and Rowe, which are ranked No. 11 as a doubles tandem. Gloria and Rowe continue on Saturday in the consolation bracket at 10 a.m.
In the qualifying consolation bracket, sophomores Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova fell to No. 57 Kaluder and Miseviciute of Arkansas.
