Kucerkova, Petukhova Roll at Duals in the Desert

FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomores Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova were solid once again at the Duals in the Desert Tournament, winning in both singles and doubles. The sophomore sensations beat Baylor's Bielikova and Filipiak 8-4 in the semifinals and then won the doubles bracket by default.
In singles, Kucerkova edged Baylor's Jana Bielikova 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 in the semifinals, while Kucerkova beat Clemson's Frederica Van Adrichem in straight sets. The two would meet in the final of the Flight 1 singles bracket but have decided not to play each other.
Junior Bruna Paes beat Clemson's Kathy Gerber in straight sets in the Flight 4 singles consolation.
Fresno State will continue play in the tournament on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
