FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football team will once again take a tour of Children's Hospital Central California on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
The Bulldog coaches and student-athletes will be leaving the Duncan Building parking lot, clad in their jerseys, with two busloads of players. While at the hospital, the team will be signing autographs and playing with the children.
"We love going to Children's Hospital," said head coach Pat Hill. "It's an event our players really enjoy. We get a chance to meet so many great kids and families. We hope that we can give them hope and brighten their day. There are some really tough kids there and the hospital staff does a great job. Sometimes all people need when things are tough is to know that somebody cares and we want them to know that we do."
The Bulldogs make the trip to Children's Hospital Central California annually, making this an on-going visit for some of the athletes. WAC Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Riley, looks forward to his fourth trip to see the children.
"I love seeing the looks on their faces when we go there," said the senior linebacker. "I look forward to going every year because there is no feeling like it. It makes you thankful and it always feels good to put a smile on a kids face."
The Fresno State football team will also be recognized during halftime at the men's basketball game on Thursday night as the Bulldogs take on Presbyterian at the Save Mart Center.
"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The Fresno State football team will play Georgia Tech in the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl on Dec. 31. For ticket information and travel packages click on the icon at the top of the page.
