Bulldogs Resume Play

Palo Alto, Calif. - The Fresno State Bulldogs resumed play today in the bottom of the fourth inning after game one was postponed due to rain Saturday against Stanford. With the Bulldogs down 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth Fresno State tried to get on the board early but stranded two at the end of the inning. The Bulldogs went on to lose the game 9-2.
In the bottom of the fifth Stanford knocked in another run after an error was committed by the Bulldogs to put the score at 7-1. The Cardinals stranded three on base before Sean Bonesteele recorded the last out by striking out the batter.
Stanford provided more offense in the six inning scoring two runs when Adam Gaylord recorded a double down the left field line adding an RBI. The second run was recorded when another error was recorded on the throw to home plate.
In the top of the ninth Ozzie Lewis grabbed his first RBI of the year when he hit a deep ball to right center bringing in Steve Susdorf making the score 9-2.
Todd Sandell went 2 for 4 with two singles. Sean Bonesteele threw 3.2 innings and gave up four hits on three runs. Drew Gagnier saw some action as well and threw two innings allowing no runs.
Fresno State moved to 1-4 on the season while Stanford improved to 1-3. The Bulldogs will play game two in a half hour against Stanford with right hander Brandon Burke (0-1, 2.45) and the Cardinals
