FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Melanie Gloria has been named the women's WAC tennis player of the week for the week of April 2. It is the third time Gloria has earned the honor this year.

Gloria, a sophomore from Montreal, Canada (Georges-Vanier), won all six of her matches, three in singles and three in doubles, to help the Bulldogs go 3-0 last week. Third-ranked Gloria's best win came in a 6-3, 6-1 victory over No. 35 Monica Milewski of Colorado. Gloria never allowed an opponent to win more than three games during the stretch. She has also won 12 straight in singles and eight straight in doubles with teammate Tinesta Rowe.

The Bulldogs will be back in action next week as they host Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount and Saint Mary's.
