| Freshman Anastasia Petukhova was named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of May 14. It is the first time this season that Petukhova has been honored and the fifth time a member of the women's tennis team has earned the honor. Petukhova was outstanding over the weekend as the Bulldogs beat Army and Pepperdine in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs are making their second straight appearance in the Sweet Sixteen this week in Athens, Ga. Against Army, Petukhova and freshman Renata Kucerkova were dominating in an 8-1 defeat of Sarah Giles-Madden and Jessica Shurtz. In singles, Petukhova blew past Giles-Madden 6-1, 6-1. Against Pepperdine, Petukhova won 8-2 with Kucerkova and then 6-0, 6-1 against Katia Sabate. Also nominated this week were: Robin Mackin (softball), Jennifer Shipley (women's golf), Dave Endler (men's track and field), Mallory Webb (women's track and field), and Justin Wilson (baseball).
