Fresno State leads the overall series 11-8. The Bulldogs won the most recent meeting on January 5 by beating the Broncos 73-63 at the Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs have won seven of the last nine meetings.
On a Roll
The Bulldogs nine game win streak ties a school record that three other teams have set. The 1986-87, 84-85 and the 79-80 teams all won nine straight games.
Win No. 100
Adrian Wiggins earned his 100th career victory on Saturday when the Bulldogs won at San Jose State 83-65. He is 100-50 overall and boasts a .667 winning percentage. His first ever win as a head coach was a 70-66 victory over Drury University, when Wiggins coached at Cameron University. Wiggins has the best winning percentage in Fresno State history at .645. He is currently 60-33 in his three plus seasons as head coach.
Three's a Charm
Fresno State has shot more 3-pointers than any school in the WAC this year with 418 attempts. At the rate in which the Bulldogs are shooting from beyond the arc, they are on pace to break the school record for most 3-pointers in a season. The single season record is 561 attempts back in the 2002-03 season. That year they also set a school record by making 166 three's. The school record for the best 3-point percentage is 39.5 in the 1989-90 season.
Already this year Fresno State has connected on 141 of 418 attempts while shooting 33.7 percent. The 141 trey's puts Fresno State in 12th place in the NCAA for 3-pointers made per game. They have shot over 50 percent or better in two games this year. Against Sacramento State the Dogs were 10-20 and against Cal-State Northridge they were 10-for-17 (58.8%).
Scoring Machine
Since the end of last season Tierre Wilson has scored in double figures in 30 straight games. Prior to her career high of 28 points against Long Beach State, Wilson's high point performance during the 30 game stretch was 23 points at Loyola Marymount on December 5, 2007.
Blazing Start
Fresno State's 6-0 start in WAC play ties a school record for the best start in conference history. The 2005-06 team started conference play 6-0 before losing at Louisiana Tech. The six straight conference wins also ties a school record for most consecutive wins in league play.
