Wiggins Signs Taylor Thompson

FRESNO, Calif.- - Fresno State women's basketball coach Adrian Wiggins has announced the signing of 5'5 guard Taylor Thompson out of Cache High School in Cache, Okla., to a National Letter of Intent for the 2009-10 season.
Thompson is one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma as she has averaged 22.5 points a game for the last two years. She has also led her team in rebounding at 5.5 boards a game for the last two years and in steals for the last three years at 3.5 a contest.
"Taylor is a phenomenal student-athlete," Wiggins said. "She is a combo point and shooting guard and she can really shoot the three. We are excited for her to join our program. She is everything you want in a student-athlete and I really think she'll be a crowd favorite at Fresno State."
Thompson is a four-year starter and she was the leading the scorer in the state of Oklahoma for classes 2A-6A. She was named to the All-State tournament team as a sophomore and junior and during those two years she guided her team to the state semi-finals. As a freshman Thompson led her team to the state quarterfinals.
Thompson was tabbed as the Preseason MVP for Class 4A in Oklahoma this season. Thompson is an outstanding student in the classroom as she carries a 3.96 GPA.
