FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in 2008 as they travel to the Campbell Cartier Classic hosted by San Diego State on Friday and Saturday. They will play both Indiana and Tulsa Friday morning then UC Santa Barbara and San Diego State Saturday night.

ESPN's Guy Haberman and Paul Swearengin will once again be the voice of the `Dogs this season as they will broad¬cast 39 games, 31 at home and eight on the road on 1430 ESPN Radio and 790 the Duece.
This Weekend's Matchups
Fresno State will play four teams this weekend in its first of two tournaments in San Diego this season. The Bulldogs will play Indiana for the first time since 2002. They lead the overall series 3-0. Indiana was 21-34 last season and the Hoosiers matchup against the Bulldogs will be their first game of 2008.
Tulsa trails the overall series with Fresno State 25-5. The Bulldogs have won four-straight against the Golden Hur¬ricanes, earning a 3-0 sweep in 2005. The series began in 1997. Tulsa finished 30-28 in 2007 and last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2006. They are 2-2 on the season.
The Bulldogs and the Gauchos from UC Santa Barbara last met in 2005 as they split the two-game series. Fresno State leads the overall series 55-10, which began in 1979. UCSB finished 30-23 in 2007 and is currently 1-3 on the season.
San Diego State, the host of this weekend's tournament, is 4-1 on the season. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 50-6, and won the last meeting in 2006, 11-0. The Aztecs finished with a 32-24 overall record in 2007.
Last Week's Recap
With a 2-0 sweep of Pacific on Saturday, the Bulldogs earned their first season-opening win since 2005 and their first 2-0 start since then as well. Freshman pitcher Morgan Melloh was named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Student-Athlete of the Week as she earned both wins on the day with 16 strikeouts and a 1.40 ERA. She also hit .500 at the plate with two RBI's. Freshman catcher Caitlin Stiglich led the team going 4-6 from the plate.
