Bulldogs Play at Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. - The Fresno State women's basketball team takes its league best 7-1 record in WAC play to Ruston, Louisiana, where they will play at Louisiana Tech on Monday. Tipoff is at 5 p.m. and the game can be heard live on 790 ESPN, the Deuce.
Scouting Louisiana Tech
Louisiana Tech enters Monday's contest with a 10-10 record and a 4-3 mark in WAC play. JoKeirra Sneed leads the Lady Techsters in scoring in WAC play at 17.6 points and 10.4 rebounds a game. Shanavia Dowdell is scoring 11.7 points and Tarkeisha Wysinger is averaging 10.1 points. LA Tech is scoring 68.6 points a game and shooting 39.7 percent from the field.
Bulldogs against Louisiana Tech The Bulldogs trail the overall series 13-3. Fresno State has yet to win in Ruston. The Dogs only wins have come in the last three years at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State beat the Lady Techsters 75-52 to open WAC play on January 3.
One Win Streak Snapped Another One Continues
The Bulldogs nine game win streak that was snapped on Monday at Boise State tied a school record for most wins in school history. The four teams that have recorded nine straight wins are the 1986-87, 1984-85, 1979-80 and now the 2007-08 team. Fresno State's win over Nevada improved its homecourt winning streak to seven.
Bulldogs Love the 3
The Bulldogs are six 3-pointers away from breaking the single season record for most three's made in school history. Fresno State has connected on 161 of three's and the school record is 166. The school record for most three's attempted is 561 and this years Bulldog team has attempted 470.
Strong Finish
Since Adrian Wiggins has been head coach at Fresno State his teams have finished the season strong. In the month of February the Bulldogs are 15-5 and 20-6 in the last two months of the regular season.
Give Me 3
Bailey Amundsen has hit a 3-pointer in 13 straight games while her teammate Jaleesa Ross has nailed a three in 11 straight games. Ross has scored in double figures in nine straight games.
Win No. 100
Adrian Wiggins earned his 100th career victory on Saturday when the Bulldogs won at San Jose State 83-65. He is 101-51 overall and boasts a .668 winning percentage. His first ever win as a head coach was a 70-66 victory over Drury University, when Wiggins coached at Cameron University. Wiggins has the best winning percentage in Fresno State history at .642. He is currently 61-34 in his three plus seasons as head coach.
Love at Home
Fresno State is out scoring opponents 76-56 at the Save Mart Center in WAC play. The Dogs have beaten Nevada by 32, San Jose State by 18, Hawai'i by 20, Boise State by 10 and Louisiana Tech by 23.
Scoring Streak Comes to An End
Tierre Wilson's impressive streak of 30 straight games scoring in double figures came to an end at Boise State when she scored only eight points and fouled out with 6:11 left in Monday's game. During the 30-game stretch Wilson scored a career high of 28 points in a road win at Long Beach State on December 7, 2007.
Wilson Moves Into Elite Company
Tierre Wilson moved into the top 10 for career point leaders at Fresno State at San Jose State. She currently sits in ninth place with 1,181 points and needs 53 points to move into eighth place. She is also five steals away from moving into the top 10 for most steals in school history. She currently has 149 steals. With five steals she will surpass Janee Young with 153 steals.
Ross and Bulldogs in NCAA Rankings
Jaleesa Ross is ranked 17th in the NCAA in three-point field goal percentage as she is shooting 43.2 percent (51-for-118). As a team Fresno State is 10th in the nation in 3-pointers made per game at 7.7. The Bulldogs rank 42nd in points per game at 71.3 points a contest.
