Miller and Ahmady Earn WAC Awards

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team swept the weekly WAC awards as infielder Alan Ahmady and pitcher Justin Miller were named Western Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for March 24-30.
Ahmady, a sophomore from Fresno, Calif. (Clovis West HS), hit .583 with 14 hits, eight runs, six doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBI as Fresno State went 5-1 last week. In four conference games against Nevada, Ahmady hit .600 in 15 at bats with three home runs and 10 RBI. He also scored seven runs and had a slugging percentage of 1.467 during the four games against the Pack.
Miller, a junior from Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield College), went 2-0 last week in 9.2 innings of work, allowing only five hits with a 0.00 ERA. Miller registered a seven-inning complete game victory with eight strikeouts in an 11-1 win over Nevada. He also pitched the final 2.2 innings in a 13-11 win against Cal Poly. The two wins improve Miller's record to 4-0 with a 1.62 ERA this season.
