FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 25 ranked Fresno State football team will hold its annual Media Day Thursday afternoon at the Duncan Building Conference Room.
Newspaper, television and radio outlets from all round the Central Valley will be in attendance to talk to players and coaches about the upcoming 2008 season.
Fresno State has had two days of practice and will practice Thursday morning before meeting the media in the afternoon.
Come Thursday afternoon the media will have a question and answer session with the Fresno State compliance department at 1 p.m. for 10-15 minutes to become familiar with the NCAA rules. Then the Bulldog newcomers will get their head shots taken and go through interviews with the media.
Pat Hill will address the media at 2 p.m. and the returning players will talk to the media at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to it being Media Day, the Bulldog football team continues to get recognized around the country by national media outlets. On Tuesday, ESPN.Com's Mark Schlabach recognized coach Hill as one the college football's top alpha-male coaches. Schlabach said the coaches have good looks, booming voices and very deep pockets.
Other coaches mentioned in the list were USC's Pete Carroll, Penn State's Joe Paterno, Charles Weis of Notre Dame, Mack Brown (Texas), Dennis Erickson (Arizona State), Rich Rodriguez (Michigan), Howard Schnellenberger (Florida Atlantic), Bob Stoops (Oklahoma) and Jim Tressel (Ohio State).
On Hill, Schlabach said, "Not only is Hill a coach you would want leading your program, but you'd also like him on your side in a dark alley. His rough-and-tough looks are a perfect match for Fresno."
