Fresno State, ranked No. 8 in the national equestrian coaches poll, returns to action this week with a match against Miami (Ohio). The Bulldogs will host four meets between Jan. 24 and March 1.

Miami (Ohio) Added to the Schedule
The No. 8 ranked Fresno State equestrian team has added another home meet to an already exciting spring schedule. Head coach Becky Malmo announced today that the Dogs are hosting Miami (Ohio) for a dual meet on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Student Horse Center. "Miami is an emerging program that has been a traditionally strong IHSA program," said Malmo. "We are thankful to get them on the schedule and it will be nice to have a meet the week before we host the defending national champions." Fresno State is ranked No. 8 in the most recent National Equestrian Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs spring schedule also includes two dual meets Feb. 7-8 against defending national champion Georgia, currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, and No. 10 New Mexico State. The Bulldogs host their annual Best of the West Tournament Feb. 14-15 before concluding the home schedule with a pair of dual meets against two Top 10-ranked teams. No. 7 South Carolina and No. 5 Baylor will visit the Student Horse Center the weekend of Feb. 28 and March 1. The Dogs are riding a two-match winning streak, having beaten No. 5 Oklahoma State and Delaware State on Nov. 8 in their last match of the fall portion of the season.
Dogs on a Roll
Fresno State entered its mid-year break with a two-match winning streak, beating No. 5 Oklahoma State and winning at Delaware State. The Dogs have been off since Nov. 8. Fresno State has two wins over Top 10 ranked teams in the last five matches, including a win over current No. 7 TCU in September. The Bulldogs have a great schedule ahead that features four teams ranked ahead of them in the rankings in the month of February.
Fresno State Ranked No. 8 in National Coaches Poll
Fresno State moved up one position to No. 8 in the most recent coaches poll. The Bulldogs have competed against six of the top seven ranked teams this season. Auburn remains the No. 1 ranked team in the nation for the second straight poll. The Bulldogs opened the season competing against the Tigers. Fresno State will host defending national champion and No. 3 ranked Georgia and No. 10 New Mexico State Feb. 7-8.
