'Dogs set for Big 12 Championships

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team enters the 2026 Big 12 Championship as the No. 2 seed. The championship event is hosted by Oklahoma State this weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Bulldogs will face No. 3 seed TCU in the first round of competition on Friday. The Big 12 eliminated the consolation bracket of the championship, so if the Bulldogs lose to TCU on Friday, they will not compete on Saturday. The championship meet will be on Saturday between the winners of each semifinal from Friday.

All four teams ended the regular season ranked in the NCEA top 10. OSU leads the Conference, ranked at No. 6, while TCU and Fresno State are No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. Baylor rounds out the poll in the last slot at No. 10. This is the second consecutive year that all four programs have been ranked heading into Championship weekend.

Big 12 honors
Fresno State earned seven Big 12 postseason awards, announced by the conference office on Thursday. Abby Goddard was named the Horsemanship Rider of the Year, becoming the first recipient of the award in the event for Fresno State and just the second Rider of the Year for the 'Dogs since joining the conference. Goddard earned a spot on the horsemanship All-Big 12 team along the way. Senior Shelby Robinette earned a spot on both teams, earning her second career reining honor and first horsemanship recognition. Brogan Hill joined Robinette on the reining team, earning All-Big 12 honors in back-to-back years. Sophomore Paris Mahoney repeated as an All-Big 12 selection in both the fences and flat, continuing her decorated career as a Bulldog. Robinette was also named the Big 12 Equestrian Scholar-Athlete of the Year, repeating from last season.Â
