Battle Of The 'Dogs On Thursday Night

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State will host the other WAC Bulldogs as Louisiana Tech comes to the Save Mart Center on Thursday night (Jan. 22) for a 7 p.m. PST contest. The Bulldogs then travel to San Jose for a 7 p.m. PST Saturday night (Jan. 24) rematch with the Spartans. Fresno State is 7-11 on the season and looks its first WAC win of the year.
About the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Louisiana Tech enters the week 8-10 on the season and 2-3 in WAC play. The Bulldogs are led by Kyle Gibson with 15.4 ppg. Louisiana Tech was picked to finish sixth in the WAC by the coaches and fourth by the media during the 2008-09 preseason polls.

Fresno State leads the overall series with Louisiana Tech, 10-9. Fresno State has won the last four games with Louisiana Tech, including the most recent meeting that ended in a 70-58 Fresno State victory on Feb. 4, 2009 in Fresno, Calif.

San Jose State University enters the week 8-8 on the season and 2-3 in WAC play. The Spartans are led by Adrian Oliver with 16.7 ppg and Tim Pierce, who adds 15.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg. San Jose State was picked to finish fourth in the WAC by the coaches and sixth by the media during the 2008-09 preseason polls.

LAST WEEK: Seay Soars In Logan; Comeback Just Short in Reno
While executing their game plan to near perfection, junior forward Sylvester Seay soared to a dominating career-high 32-point night as the Bulldog's upset bid to stop the Aggie's 26-game home winning streak ended in a 65-61 loss at Utah State on Thursday night in the packed Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Fresno State had led 32-28 at halftime. On the night, the `Dogs shot 47 percent from the field against the first-place Aggies, who remained undefeated in conference play. Later in the week, Fresno State fought back from a 15-point hole midway through the second half before falling 65-60 to the five-time defending WAC champion Nevada Wolf Pack in the Lawlor Events Center. George recorded a team-high 16 points and nine boards while Golubovic also picked up nine rebounds (tying a career-high). Seay added 13 points and eight rebounds.
