Dogs Ninth in National Poll

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldog equestrian team remains in ninth place in the most recent Varsity Equestrian Coaches Poll. The Dogs are off until Nov. 6-7 when they head to Georgia and South Carolina for meets against those two schools, the final matches of the fall schedule.
After holding down the No. 1 spot in the Varsity Equestrian Coaches poll for the majority of the fall of 2008, the Auburn Tigers have returned to the top spot in the bi-monthly poll.
Auburn jumped from third to first place, replacing South Carolina as the top team in the Poll. The Gamecocks slipped to second, 10 points behind the Tigers. This the second poll released this season.
Georgia is ranked third just eight points behind South Carolina. Liek Auburn, Oklahoma State moved up two spots in the poll from sixth to fourth place and have a 1-point lead over Kansas State, which is fifth. The Wildcats, with 65 points, are 1-point better than No. 6 Texas A&M.
Baylor, No. 2 in the first poll of the season, fell to seventh place.
The three remaining teams in the Top 10, TCU, Fresno State and South Dakota State, all remained in their same spots from the first poll.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll.
The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 3, 2009.
