Petukhova Named WAC Player of the Month

FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference named Fresno State senior Anastasia Petukhova as the WAC Player of the Month for the month of October on Tuesday.
Petukhova started the month by winning the ITA All-American Main consolation bracket by defeating four opponents, including three ranked players - No. 47 Pichittra Thongdach of Boise State, No. 53 Allison Ramos of USC and No. 11 Yasmin Schnack of UCLA. At the ITA Northwest Regional she advance to the Round of the 16 to close out the month of October.
In doubles, she paired with freshman Bianca Modoc for the first time in her career and the duo advanced to the quarterfinals of the Regional.
Petukhova earned a wild card selection and will compete at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Nov. 5-8 in New Haven, Conn.
