FRESNO, Calif. - `Tis the season to be giving, with the Holidays fast approaching the Fresno State baseball team took the time to spread Holiday cheer. Head coach Mike Batesole, Danny Muno, Jordan Ribera, Brennan Gowens and Daniel Moultrie handed out gifts to a Fresno family.
Also joining the Bulldogs were Kassy Batesole, Sarah Tew, former Arizona shortstop Jason Donald and former Nevada player Jason Sadoian. They all visited the Jones family and gave them a Christmas to remember.
"We love Fresno," said Batesole. "The people of Fresno have been so overwhelmingly great to our family that Kassy has taken it upon herself to give back when we can. She has a big heart for our community and she is involved in many `give-back projects.' We had a lot of fun with the Jones family. We are proud of Kassy and we are proud to be a part of this project."
This is the second year that Fresno State baseball has adopted a family during the Holiday season. Kassy Batesole heads up the operation for the Bulldogs. This year the Bulldogs found a family to adopt through The Well Community Church.
The Jones' and their five children got new toys, clothes and new baseball equipment for Christmas from the group.
The Bulldogs helped deliver presents to the Jones'. The `Dogs also spent some quality time with the family teaching them how to play baseball.
"We Are Your Team"-- The Bulldogs open the season on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. in Beiden Field against Nebraska. Log on to gobulldogs.com or call 278-GODogs for ticket information.
