FRESNO, Calif. - Three weeks into the season the Fresno State softball team will get to play its first home game of 2009 at Bulldog Diamond on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. vs. Utah Valley University. When fans come out to the Diamond on Thursday they will see eight new faces in the Bulldog dugout.
Outfielder Jody Badorine from Madera, Calif., is one of the newcomers this season. She sat down with www.gobulldogs.com to talk about this year's team and why Bulldog Diamond is the place to be on Thursday night.
Who will be in the stands at Bulldog Diamond cheering you on Thursday night?
"My family, friends and my high school softball team from Madera High as well as my former coaches."
How does it feel to finally be able to play at game at Bulldog Diamond?
"Our season started three weeks ago and it will finally be nice to play on our own field. It's a great chance to show our fans how hard we've been working as a team. It's the perfect opportunity for us to show everyone what Bulldog softball is all about."
Why should people be at Bulldog Diamond on Thursday?
"Bulldog fans should come out and support us for our home opener! This is going to be an exciting game to watch and not only are we nationally ranked but we have a new look to our stadium that everyone can enjoy!"
Growing up just down the road and watching Bulldog games as a kid, what does is it mean for you to be able to take the field in a Bulldog uniform this week?
"After coming to Bulldog games all of my life, it is an honor to be able to wear the uniform and play at Bulldog Diamond. I take a lot of pride in being able to call myself a Bulldog. It took a lot of hard work to get to where I am today but it was definitely worth it and I wouldn't trade it for anything."
The fans will see the new berm in the outfield on Thursday. What does the berm add to the stadium?
"The berm adds a new look to our stadium. It's a great place for families with kids to sit and enjoy the game. It brings a different environment and a new view of the game. It's perfect for those who want to sit on a blanket or want to bring their own chairs to the outfield."
What is something Bulldog fans will notice about the 2009 team when they take the field?
"We play and win as a team. Our team is constantly encouraging one another and picking each other up. We are a fun group of student-athletes to watch who have a heart of passion for the game."

What can Bulldog fans expect to see out of the 2009 freshmen class in their four years at Fresno State?
