'Dogs Set to Face Cal Poly

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team concludes a four game homestand with Cal Poly Tuesday night. The `Dogs then head to Eugene for their first road trip of the season as they face the Oregon Ducks.
Fresno State vs. Cal Poly
The Bulldogs lead the overall series against Cal Poly 90-45. Last season the `Dogs and Mustangs faced off five times and the Bulldogs won two of five games. The last meeting of these teams was on April 15, 2008 and the Mustangs won 10-7.
About the Mustangs
The Mustangs opened the season with a three-game series against nation¬ally ranked Rice. Cal Poly lost the first game 10-7, but went on to win the final two games, 10-3 and 7-6. Eric Massingham picked up a win allowing four hits and three runs, while recording four strikeouts and an 1.8 ERA. DJ Mauldin also earned his first win of the season after recording four strikeouts in seven innings and earning a 3.68 ERA. Adam Buschini earned two doubles and three RBIs over the weekend batting .250.
Fresno State vs. Oregon
Fresno State will face Oregon for the first time in 34 years. The Ducks open their first season after a 28 year hiatus. The last time the `Dogs faced the Ducks was in 1975 and the Bulldogs won one of three games. Fresno State leads the overall series 4-3.
About the Ducks
Oregon opened the season at Saint Mary's for a four game series. The Ducks won the first game 5-3 and St Mary's came back and won Saturday's dou¬ble header 6-3 and 4-2. Jett Hart capped off the weekend batting .364 with a double and a triple. The Ducks have two players, Eddy Rodriguez and Curt Raulinaitis, hitting .455. While Tyler Anderson picked up a winning and recording a 3.18 ERA.
Sprague Strikes
Right-hander Holden Sprague started on the mound opening night for the Bulldogs. Opening night was the seniors 11th start and 72nd appearance. Sprague matched his career-high six strikeouts in six innings of work allowing only one run and six hits. Sprague earned a 1.50 ERA over the weekend.
Floethe on Fire
Sophomore Jake Floethe got his second career start in game three against Washing¬ton. He threw a career-high six innings and five strikeouts. Floethe shutout the Husky batters in the first six innings and twice sat down the batters in order. He allowed only six hits, but finished the weekend with a 0.00 ERA.
Mighty Muno
Preseason All-WAC player Danny Muno went 3-for-3 in game three against Washing¬ton. The sophomore shortstop hit a double, two singles and a sacrifice hit improving his batting average to .500. Muno also recorded an RBI, two runs and five hits on the weekend. Muno was also three for three on stolen bases.
