Bulldogs Conclude Oregon Series on Sunday

EUGENE, Ore. - The Fresno State baseball team had seven hits and a home run against Oregon, but the Ducks answered with 10 hits and seven runs to win 7-1. The `Dogs are now 2-4 on the season.
Junior Sean Bonesteele started the on the mound for Fresno State. The right-hander threw for 2.1 innings and two strikeouts.
Oregon scored first in the bottom of the second inning taking an early 2-0 lead.
In the top of the third inning The Bulldogs answered with the next at bat as sophomore Preseason All-WAC player Danny Muno hit a solo home run to right field. Muno had the first hit in PK Park history yesterday and today he hit the first home run in PK Park.
In his 2009 debut, junior first baseman Alan Ahmady showcased his arm and defense with a couple of great plays at first. The Preseason All-American went 2-for-3 against the Duck pitching staff.
The Ducks scored three runs to increase its lead 5-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
Right -hander Derek Benny became the third pitcher of the afternoon for the `Dogs. Benny pitched four innings and struck out three batters.
The Ducks scored two more runs to win the game 7-1. The `Dogs conclude the series against Oregon tomorrow at 1 p.m. The game can be heard on KMJ 580 or seen on Comcast Sports Net Northwest.
"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The `Dogs travel north to Oregon to battle the Ducks February 27-March 1. The `Dogs return to Beiden Field on Saturday, March 7 as they host Buffalo at 2:05 pm.
