FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team made a huge leap, jumping` from No. 37 to No. 18 in the March 17 ITA Tennis Rankings.
The Bulldogs were ranked No. 37 in the March 10 rankings, but four wins last week, including three against ranked opponents, propelled Fresno State 19 spots to rejoin the Top 20.
The Top 16 teams host regionals for the NCAA Tournament, which the Bulldogs hosted the previous two seasons and four times in the program's history.
The Bulldogs also have three singles players ranked in the Top 90. Senior Melanie Gloria is 19th, juniors Anastasia Petukhova is 28th and Renata Kucerkova is 89th.
The 'Dogs have two of the Top 20 doubles teams. Petukhova and Kucerkova remained the top doubles team in the nation, while Gloria and Tinesta Rowe are ranked 16th.
