'Dogs Finish Regular Season in Gem State

BOISE, Idaho - Fresno State finishes the regular season with a pair of games in the state of Idaho. The `Dogs are looking for their first road WAC victory of the year as they meet the Boise State Broncos on Thursday night at 6 p.m. PST and the Idaho Vandals on Saturday night at 7 p.m. PST. Both games will be shown on the Bulldog Sports Network with Hittin' the Hardwood (Fresno State's pre-game show that features a behind-the-scenes look at Bulldog Basketball) starts 30 minutes prior to each tip.

Seay Recognized as WAC Player of the Week
Junior forward Sylvester Seay averaged 25.5 points and 9.5 rebounds with a pair of 20-plus scoring affairs for the second straight week as he has reached at least 20 points in the past five games. On the week, Seay shot 57.1 percent on 3-pointers with a career-high eight over a two-game span. He also connected on 16 of 30 field goals.
About the Broncos
Boise State University holds a 18-10 mark for the season and sports an 8-6 record in WAC play. Mark Sanchez leads Boise State with 12.9 ppg and 6.9 rpg. BSU was picked to finish fifth in the WAC by both the coaches and media in preseason polling.
Against the Broncos
Fresno State trails the overall series with Boise State, 14-8. The Bulldogs beat the Broncos 88-82 on Feb.9, 2009 in the school's first battle this year. Fresno State looks for its first win in Boise since Jan. 15, 2004 when the `Dogs downed the Broncos 78-61.
About the Vandals
The University of Idaho sports a 14-14 season tally with a 7-7 record in WAC action. Mac Hopsen leads the Vandals with 16.6 ppg. Idaho was picked to finish last in the WAC by both the coaches and media in preseason polling.
Against the Vandals
Fresno State leads the overall series with Idaho, 6-4. Fresno State and Idaho have gone to overtime in the last two games played in Moscow, splitting the pair with the `Dogs winning 72-70 in 2007 and falling 79-74 in 2008.
LAST WEEK: `Dogs Beat Nevada, Fell to Idaho as Seay Shined
Fresno State knocked off second-place Nevada 68-66 on Thursday night for Steve Cleveland's 200th career win. Junior forward Sylvester Seay delivered another statement as he scored 28 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for his third career double-double. Sophomore forward and Academic All-District honoree Nedeljko Golubovic recorded a career-high 18 points while draining four 3-pointers for back-to-back games. In the `Dogs home finale, Seay scorched the nets again for a game-high 23 points, his fifth consecutive game with at least 20, as Fresno State fell 71-68 to Idaho. Seay connected on four 3-pointers for the second straight contest while freshman guard Paul George added 19 points on three 3-pointers in front of a season-high 10,434 fans.

`Dogs Top Conference in 3-Point Shooting and Home Attendance
As of March 3, Fresno State topped the Western Athletic Conference in 3-pointers made (7.17 per game) and home attendance (8,969 per game) while sitting in second place for blocked shots (4.77 per game) for the season. Freshman guard Paul George leads the league in 3-point shooting by hitting 57 of 128 attempts from beyond the arc this season. Junior forward Sylvester Seay is second in the WAC in conference games by averaging 18.6 points per game as a dual inside-outside skilled scorer.
Golubovic Honored as First-Team Academic All-District 8
Nedeljko Golubovic, a sophomore originally from Pljevlja, Serbia, earned an exclusive spot on the first-team Academic All-District 8 team. This is believed to be the first such honor for a Fresno State men's basketball student-athlete in the history of the program. Golubovic earned a cumulative 3.76 grade point average in his three semesters at Fresno State, including a distinction on the President's List during the Fall 2007 semester for a perfect 4.0 GPA. Golubovic's selection placed him in an elite group, as he was the only University Division student-athlete from a California college and the only representative from a Western Athletic Conference school to earn recognition.
