FRESNO, Calif. - Third baseman Tom Mendonca hit his 42nd career home run in the first inning of tonight's game against New Mexico State. In the third inning, the junior launched another home run tying the all-time home run record of 43 career home runs.
The previous record was set by Guiseppe Chiramonte in 1995-97. Mendonca is the next batter up in the bottom of the sixth inning. Any home run that he hits from now on is a new school record and he becomes the home run king.
