Gloria Named ITA NW Senior Player of the Year

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Melanie Gloria added another honor to her long list of accomplishments at Fresno State as she was named the ITA Northwest Region's 2009 Senior Player of the Year.
To date, Gloria has posted a 35-13 record in singles and a 31-7 doubles record this season and is currently ranked 18th in singles and 15th in doubles with partner Tinesta Rowe.
"I am really happy to be selected as the ITA Northwest Senior Player of the Year," Gloria said. "It is my last year in the NCAA and I hope to do as well as I can to end my college career."
During the 2008-09 season, she moved to No. 2 on Fresno State's career wins list, won her fourth WAC Player of the Year honor, led her team to the Sweet 16 for the fourth-straight year and will look to become a three-time All-American in singles and two-time All-American in doubles.
Gloria will finish her college career this week in College Station, Texas, as she competes in both the NCAA Singles and Doubles Tournament May 20-25.
