'Dogs Eighth In First Coaches Poll

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs had a strong start to their 2010-11 season with a big win and four MVP honors against Delaware State. The 'Dogs also had a close match against the No.2 nationally ranked team, Auburn, and are currently sitting in the No. 8 spot in the first Coaches Poll of the season.
The national equestrian coaches voted Georgia into the No. 1 spot with 73 points. UGA opened their season with two victories over Kansas State and SMU.
Texas A&M and Auburn tied in the No. 2 spot with a total of 68 points each.
Oklahoma State sits in third place 50 points with University of South Carolina in fourth and only one point behind.
TCU is ranked No. 5 with 36 points and Kansas State is in sixth place separated by one point.
Baylor was voted in the No. 7 spot with 25 points followed by Fresno State with 19 points.
New Mexico State holds the No. 9 spot and University of Tennesse-Martin is voted in tenth in the opening coaches poll.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll.
The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 2, 2010.
