'Dogs host New Mexico State

FRESNO, Calif. - First Home Competition For the Bulldogs The Fresno State equestrian team is ready for their fi rst home match of the 2010-11 season. Bulldogs will take on the No. 9 New Mexico State Aggies this Saturday at the Student Horse Center. The Bulldogs recently returned from their fi rst away competition where they competed in Auburn, Alabama against the No. 2 Tigers and Delaware State. The `Dogs defeated the Hornets 14-4 and earned all four MVP honors. They had a close match against No.2 Auburn and are excited to take on the No.9 Aggies this weekend. The competition will start at 9:00 a.m. and admission is free.

Silent Auction There will be a silent auction set up at the Student Horse Center on Saturday which will be open during the competition. The auction is put on by the Saddle Club and will help raise money for a live score board to be built at the Student Horse Center.
Saddle Club Fresno State's Saddle Club is the booster program for the women's Equestrian team. The club is made up of parents, alumni, and other community members. For information on how to join the Saddle Club contact graduate assistant Brenda Donat at 559-278-4116.
Captains Choice The equestrian team voted in four new captains for the 2010-11 season. The two captains from the English arena are junior Kimberly HewsonBudnik and senior Caitlin Marshall. The two captains from the Western arena are senior Madison Silver and Jillian Tebbe. These four strong riders have all had extensive experience in the show ring and will be leading the `Dogs through Fresno State's Centennial season.
Tebbe Reins Senior Jillian Tebbe is back for her fourth and final season of Reining competition for the equestrian team. She has had a stellar career so far and is ready for her final season to be her best one. Tebbe earned eight wins last season and MVP honors against University of South Carolina. She competed for the third time at the Varsity Equestrian National Championships and was voted to be team captain for the second year in a row. Tebbe has won both of her points so far this season.
