DeShane Lifts `Dogs Past Idaho

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team continued their winning streak over Idaho Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 overtime win on the road. The Bulldogs currently have a six-game winning streak against the Vandals.
Bradlee DeShane scored the game-winning goal four minutes into the first overtime period giving Fresno State the win. The `Dogs end the regular season in sixth place with an overall record of 7-8-4 and a WAC mark of 3-3-2.
Today's match marks the third consecutive game that was decided in extra minutes and seventh total overtime match this season. The Bulldogs will head to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament with a five-game unbeaten streak.
With the win, Fresno State clinched the sixth spot to the 2010 WAC Tournament. The Bulldogs play in the first round on Thursday, Nov. 4 in Ruston, La.
In the first half the Vandals dominated the shot count with 10, while the `Dogs recorded four. Preseason All-WAC selection Kaitlyn Revel had four saves in the half. She held Idaho scoreless heading into half time with 0-0 tie.
In the second half, the Bulldogs took control out shooting the Vandals 12-3. In the end the `Dogs recorded a total of 17 shots against Idaho's goalkeeper Liz Boyden. Fresno State finished regulation time with a 0-0 tie heading to overtime for the seventh time this season.
Four minutes into the sudden death overtime period, DeShane scored her second game-winning goal of the season. A deflected shot found the DeShane's foot and she hit the left post for the goal.
Revel closed out the season with her sixth shutout of the year and a total of 63 saves.
