FRESNO, Calif. - Don't miss the chance to see one of the biggest WAC games of the season on Saturday night when the Fresno State Bulldogs host No. 21 Nevada. The Dogs are 6-2 on the season and receiving votes in the national polls, while Nevada is having its best season since 1948 and nationally ranked for the first time in more than half a century. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and fans can be a part of a national television broadcast on ESPN.
The game will feature some of the nation's most explosive offensive players. Fresno State's Robbie Rouse is coming off a record setting day at La Tech in which he rushed for 286 yards, second most in school history and the second highest of any player in the nation this season. Nevada will counter with stellar quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who ranks seventh in the nation in total offense at 306 yards per game. Fresno State's defense, led by All-WAC players Ben Jacobs and Chris Carter, are working this week on a plan to slow down the Pack attack. Nevada ranks second in the nation in rushing at 317.8 yards per game. The Bulldog defense ranks second in the WAC and 38th in the nation in total defense (341.2 yards per game).
Carter and linemate, Logan Harrell, are tied for third in the nation in quarterback sacks with nine each.
Several former Bulldogs now in the NFL are planning to be at Bulldog Stadium for the game, including San Diego Chargers Ryan Mathews and Seyi Ajirotutu.
