'Dogs Ninth in Coaches Poll

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs are currently ranked ninth in the nation according to the most recent National Coaches Poll. The 'Dogs recently battled the No. 10 New Mexico State Aggies but after a close match they fell 11-9. The Fresno State English team was defeated 6-4 and the Western team tied and won in raw score 715-707.
Georgia is still the No. 1 team and the coaches voted for the Bulldogs to stay in the number one spot with 96 points. Texas A&M is in the No. 2 spot with a total of 86 points, which is nine points more than they had in the last poll. Auburn is ranked third with 85 points.
Oklahoma State sits in fourth place with 60 points and the University of South Carolina is in fi fth and only nine points behind.
TCU is in sixth place with 46 points and Kansas State is in the No. 7 spot with 44 points.
Baylor was voted in the No. 8 spot with 40 points followed by Fresno State with 18 points.
New Mexico State holds the No. 10 spot with 14 points. Universtiy of Tennessee-Martin received seven points in the Coaches Poll and SMU and South Dakota State each received one point.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll.
The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 16, 2010.
