Bulldogs Host Nevada Saturday at 5 p.m.

FRESNO, Calif.-Fresno State returns to the Save Mart Center for a showdown with second-place Nevada. Tipoff is at 5 p.m. and there is no radio for Saturday's game. Jaleesa Ross is three 3-pointers away from breaking the schools all-time 3-point record. She currently has 270 and the record is 272 set by Lindsay Logan.
Fresno State leads the overall series 28-8 and have won seven straight over the Wolf Pack.
Nevada is 15-11 and in second place in the WAC with a 9-3 record. Tahnee Robinson leads Nevada in scoring at 15.9 points a game. Shavon Moore is scoring 11.3 points and Johnna Ward is netting 10 points. Nevada is scoring 63.7 points a game and shooting 40 percent from the field. The Wolf Pack defense is allowing 61 points a game.
Saturday is the fourth annual pink zone game and the first 100 fans will receive a free pink t-shirt. The game supports awareness for breast cancer. $1 from every ticket sold will beneift the Central Valley Affiliate for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. There will be 12 breast cancer survivors recognized before the start of the game and Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims will speak to the crowd.
Best Start in School history
Fresno State is off to its best in school history with its 21-5 overall mark, 12-0 WAC record and its 13-game winning streak.
Ross One of Top Scorers in Bulldog History
Jaleesa Ross has scored 1,349 points in her career at Fresno State and is currently in 6th place on the Fresno State all-time scoring list. Ross needs nine points to pass Tierre Wilson (2004-08), who finished her career with 1,357 points, and move into fifth place. Ross is one of only 16 Bulldogs who have surpassed 1,000 points. Ross needs 430 points to become the schools all-time scoring leader.
Ross 3 3-Pointers Away From School Record
Jaleesa Ross has hit 270 3-pointers in her two plus seasons as a Bulldog and she is currently in second place on the schools career list for 3-pointers made. She needs three 3-pointers to pass Lindsay Logan and move into first place. Her 95 3-pointers made last season is a new Fresno State single season record, breaking the previous mark of 89, set by Ross last year and Lindsay Logan in 2000-01. The 95 3-pointers ranks Ross fifth on the single season Top 10 list in the WAC for most 3-pointers made in a year.
Bulldogs in the National Stats
Fresno State is ranked 37th in scoring at 71.8 points a game, 31st in scoring margin at 12 points, sixth in 3-pointers made per-game at 8.4 and 45th in steals. Jaleesa Ross is 32nd in scoring at 18.3 points a game and sixth in 3-pointers made-per-game at 3.3. She also ranks 34th in 3-point field goal percentage.
Winning Big
The Bulldogs are out scoring conference teams by an average score of 74.6 to 56.1 in WAC play. Overall on the season, the average margin of victory is 71.8 to 59.8. The 85-38 win over Idaho on Feb.10 was the largest margin of victory over a WAC opponent. The Bulldogs have also recorded a 41 point win over Hawaii and a 37-point win at San Jose State. The 41 point win was the third largest margin of victory in a WAC game. Earlier in the season the Bulldogs beat Sacramento State by 48 points. The Bulldogs have six wins by 20 points or more this season.
Dogs Get Noticed in Polls
As Fresno State continues to have success the Bulldogs are receiving notice on a national level. For the last four weeks the Bulldogs have received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll. For the last two weeks the team has received two votes and the previous week they received three. The Bulldogs started receiving votes in the AP Poll last week as they got one vote and this week they received six votes, putting them in 30th place. The Bulldogs received votes in the preseason polls as they received three votes in the Preseason AP Poll. It was the first time the Bulldogs have been in any Preseason national poll. The Dogs also received one vote in the Preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
