No. 19 `Dogs Battle With No. 17 Ohio State

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - After a 2-0 start at the Cathedral City Classic, the `Dogs drop their opening game on day two to No. 17 Ohio State 4-1.
No. 19 Fresno State drops to 9-2 on the season and faces No. 2 Arizona tonight at 5:30 p.m. Live stats and audio can be found at www.gobulldogs.com.
Michelle Moses got her second start of the season in the circle, going 3.0 innings and allowing just one hit, one walk and striking out three. Her three strikeouts came in the second to get out of a jam with two on and one out.
Ohio State scored first with a two run home run by Karisa Medrano in the fourth inning off of Mackenzie Oakes. Oakes entered in the fourth and took the loss to drop to 4-1 on the year. In 1.2 innings she allowed four runs on four hits and one walk.
The Buckeyes got two more in the fifth with hits by Alicia Herron and Whitney Cooper.
The only run for the `Dogs came in the sixth as Jody Badorine scored on an error.
Fresno State had five hits in the game, led by Haley Gilleland with two.
Freshman Hannah Williams pitched for the first time in a Bulldog uniform as she went 1.1 innings and allowed two hits.
