`Dogs Battle No. 1 Washington Saturday

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - No. 19 Fresno State fell 11-0 in five innings to No. 2 Arizona Friday night at the Cathedral City Classic. The `Dogs are 2-2 at the tournament and 9-3 overall on the year. Fresno State takes on No. 1 Washington Saturday at 5:30 p.m. to conclude the tournament. Live stats and audio will be provided at www.gobulldogs.com.
The `Dogs had four hits in the game vs. Kenzi Fowler, the starting pitcher for the Wildcats. Bulldog hits came from Jody Badorine, Caitlin Stiglich, Andrea Ortega and Morgan Melloh.
Melloh started the game in the circle and picked up the loss, falling to 5-2 on the year. She allowed 11 runs on 11 hits with seven walks and six strikeouts in 3.0 innings.
Mackenzie Oakes pitched one inning and allowed two hits.
Arizona scored in each of the first three innings, putting up three runs in the first, three in the second and five in the third.
Brittany Lastrapes had a home run for the Wildcats and Lini Koria hit a grand slam. K'Lee Arredondo had three hits and three runs.
