Moses Hits Two Home Runs

FULLERTON, Calif. - In the first game of the Judi Garman Classic on the campus of Cal State Fullerton, the `Dogs fell, 7-5, to No. 23 Louisiana-Lafayette.
The `Dogs are 16-10 on the year and face the host Titans at 6 p.m. tonight.
ULL took a 1-0 lead in the first with a bases loaded single by Lana Bowers. Brianna Cherry drove in two more with a single up the middle for a 3-0 lead off of Morgan Melloh. Melloh got the loss and is 8-7 on the year.
Michelle Moses got the `Dogs on the board with a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the first.
Melloh left in the second after allowing two hits in the inning with no outs. Mackenzie Oakes entered as her replacement. Oakes allowed one run on two hits in 1.0 inning.
The Ragin' Cajuns got three more runs in the second for a 6-1 lead.
Michelle Moses entered in the third to replace Oakes as Oakes moved to first base. Moses allowed just one run on six hits in 5.0 innings.
Back-to-back singles by Jody Badorine and Haley Gilleland with one out in the bottom of the third set the `Dogs up for another run as Diane Runge pinch ran for Badorine and scored on a fielder's choice to cut the lead to 6-2.
A single by Gabriele Bridges in the fifth drove in another run for ULL as they took a 7-2 lead.
Moses hit her second home run of the game, a three-run bomb to left center with Gilleland and Andrea Ortega on base. Moses now has 18 career home runs.
The `Dogs had six hits in the game.
"We Are Your Team" - The `Dogs will continue play at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton on Friday, March 19th when they face Virginia and on Saturday the 20th when they oppose DePaul.
