McQueen Triumphant Against Nevada

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State squared off against Nevada on a neutral court on Saturday in Las Cruces, N.M., with the Wolf Pack coming away with a 6-1 victory.
Freshmen Melissa McQueen and Bianca Modoc gave an early boost to the Bulldogs by edging the Pack's Emma Verberne and Lais Ogata, 9-8 (7-4) in doubles action.
McQueen kept the momentum heading into singles as she knocked off Florence De Vrye, 7-5, 4-6, (10-4).
"Melissa has competed well in the WAC," Fresno State head coach Simon Thibodeau said. "She's really improving as a freshman and maturing well. I am very proud of her performances."
With the victory over the De Vrye, McQueen remains undefeated against WAC foes, at 6-0.
Fresno State will next be in action against California on April 15 in Berkeley, Calif., followed by a doubleheader with Boise State and Louisiana Tech on April 17 in Boise, Idaho.
