Kucerkova Earns WAC Player of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Renata Kucerkova was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Tennis Players of the Week on Wednesday.
This is Kucerkova's first honor of the season and fourth of her career. The senior from Roznov, Czech Republic, picked up wins over ranked opponents in both singles and doubles last week.
At No. 1 singles, Kucerkova knocked off No. 100 Suzie Matzenauer of Cal Poly, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2. It was Kucerkova's second win in a row against a ranked opponent, the week previous she defeated Boise State's 46th-ranked Pichittra Thongdach.
At No. 1 doubles, she teamed with Laura Pola to defeat No. 32 Brittany Blalock/Matzenauer, 8-3.
The Bulldogs concluded the regular season and will next be in action on Friday against New Mexico State in the first round of the WAC Tournament.
