Cancer Awareness/Blood Drive Night Set for Friday

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State softball is once again partnering with the American Cancer Society and the Central California Blood Center at the game vs. Utah State on Friday, April 9 at 6 p.m.
The 10th Annual Jenny Eller Blood Drive Challenge concludes this week at the game. Fans are encouraged to donate blood and they will receive a 2010 Fresno State softball commemorative t-shirt and a game ticket discount. Fans can donate prior to the game in the blood mobile outside of Bulldog Diamond from 4-8 p.m. Fans can also donate at the following locations: Jenny Eller Donor Center, Fresno Donor Center, North Fresno Donor Center, Visalia Donor Center and the Porterville Donor Center.
Blood donation takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written parental permission). Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. The American Cancer Society will be in attendance with tables set up inside the concourse. There, fans can get information on how to prevent cancer and sign up for the annual Relay for Life Event. This year's Fresno State Relay for Life is Saturday, May 8th at 9 a.m. and runs until Sunday, May 9th at 9 a.m. Fans can sign up to participate in the event or donate. Survivors can also sign up to be a part of the event.

"We Are Your Team" - It will be Cancer Awareness and Blood Drive Night at Bulldog Diamond on Friday, April 9th when the `Dogs host Utah State. The Central California Blood Center Mobile Unit will be on site and taking blood donations. Donate before the game and receive $2 off your admission.
