Modoc Earns WAC Honors

FRESNO, Calif. - Bianca Modoc has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Tennis Player of the Week for March 29-April 4.
Modoc, a freshman from Yorba Linda, Calif., helped the Bulldogs get off to a 3-0 conference start by going a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles in a WAC tripleheader on Saturday. She picked up victories in singles over Idaho's Silvia Irimescu, San Jose State's Anna Guzman and a super-tiebreaker win over Hawai'i's Barbara Pinterova.
Modoc also went 3-0 in doubles with her partner Melissa McQueen.
This was the first-ever WAC player of the week honor for Modoc.
Other women nominated: Bianca Jochimsen, Boise State, Alyssa Nafarrete, Hawai'i, Maria Perevoshchikova, Idaho, and Kristina Voytsekhovich, Utah State.
