Moses Named to All-West Region

FRESNO, Calif. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Region teams and Fresno State's Michelle Moses was named to the All-West Region Second-Team.
Moses, a sophomore utility/pitcher from Paso Robles, Calif., is earning her first All-West Region honor. Earlier this season, she was named First-Team All-WAC and to the WAC All-Tournament team. Twice this season she was named the WAC Pitcher of the Week and once named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Moses has helped led the `Dogs to their 29th-straight NCAA Tournament which is an NCAA record, and a 39-19 overall record.
The right-handed pitcher in the circle has an 11-1 record with a 1.88 ERA heading into the UCLA Regional this weekend. She has 143 strikeouts in 111.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, she is batting .348 with a team-high 17 home runs, 44 runs and a .674 slugging percentage. Her 17 home runs in a single-season rank second. She has 28 total home runs in her two seasons as a Bulldog and ranks fifth all-time in school history.
She posted an 11-game hitting streak from March 24-April 10th this season.
A total of 256 players from 116 different institutions comprise this season's 10 regional teams, including first and second teams for each region.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third teams.
The NFCA Division I All-American teams will be announced at 4 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, June 2.
