Sadowitz Scores in Exhibition Match

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team battled No. 14 Cal in an exhibition match Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs lost the contest 2-1 in the final seconds of the game.
The match marked the end of the 2010 fall camp, which started on Aug. 4. The `Dogs have had two to three practices each day leading up to the game against the Golden Bears.
Cal took the lead in the 19th minute. Miranda White crossed the ball to set Betsy Hassett up to score the go ahead goal.
Fresno State answered with the equalizing goal in 82nd minute. Junior Laura Dodd, who had a team-high two assists last season, crossed the ball to Janna Sadowitz. Sadowitz connected and hit the back of the net tying the game 1-1.
With 26 second remaining in the match, Hassett scored her second goal of the afternoon giving the Golden Bears the lead and the win 2-1.
The Bulldogs recorded two shots against Cal, one from Sadowitz and the other from sophomore Callie Hancock, who led the team in shots last year.
Preseason All-WAC goalkeeper Kaitlyn Revel recorded nine saves.
The Bulldogs kick off the 2010 season on Aug. 20 against Pepperdine at 3 p.m. Fresno State plays Long Beach State on Aug. 23 for the 2010 home opener.
