Bernardi Named to Rimington Watch List

FRESNO, Calif. - For the second consecutive season, senior Joe Bernardi has been named to the prestigious Rimington Trophy Watch List.
The Rimington Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division 1-A football.
The center for the Bulldogs offensive line was named to the 2009 watch list and is now back for the second season on the 2010 list.
Bernardi has battled multiple injuries and is always returning for more. A player who defines toughness, he has started 29 games in the last three seasons and now enters his final season as a Bulldog.
As one of the most vocal leaders on the team, Bernardi helped the Bulldog offense finish among the best in the nation in 2009. They ranked No. 8 in rushing, No. 14 in scoring and No. 17 in total offense.
He will be a part of an offensive line this 2010 season that returns all five starters.
Bernardi is the only center on the list from the Western Athletic Conference.
