Bulldogs Begin Three-Game Road Swing At Nevada
After rolling through a successful four-game homestand, Fresno State hits the road for a lengthy stay, beginning with Saturday's contest at Nevada. The Bulldogs, winners of six of their past seven games, remain one game behind Louisiana Tech in the early WAC title race. Fresno State is 6-2 on the road this season.
Scouting The Wolf Pack
One week after suffering a 24-point loss to Louisiana Tech, the Wolf Pack returns to the floor looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Tahnee Robinson led Nevada with 14 points against the Lady Techsters. Despite its recent difficulites, the Wolf Pack is 8-1 at home this season.
The Series vs. Nevada
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with the Wolf Pack 29-8 and have won the past eight games against Nevada. Fresno State hasn't lost to the Wolf Pack since the 2006-07 season when it fell 68-61.
Last Time Out
History was made at the Save Mart Center on Thursday night, as senior guard Jaleesa Ross became the leading scorer in Fresno State women's basketball history. Ross scored a game-high 18 points and was one of 10 players to find the scoring column in the Bulldogs' lopsided 65-33 win over San Jose State. Ross needed just nine points to pass former Bulldogs forward Yvette Roberts and break the scoring record of 1,778 points Roberts set in 1989. She now has 1,788 career points.
Ross Sets Scoring Record
Senior guard Jaleesa Ross became the leading scorer in Fresno State women's basketball history on Jan. 27. Ross scored a game-high 18 points in the Bulldogs' 65-33 win over San Jose State, breaking former forward Yvette Roberts' scoring record of 1,778 points set in 1989. Ross now has 1,788 career points.
Ross' Record Watch Continues
Senior guard Jaleesa Ross heads into her final season with her sights set on a number of prestigious marks. One of the best 3-point shooters in the nation, Ross has made 354 3-pointers during her career and currently sits in third place in the WAC for 3-point field goals made. Already Fresno State's leader in that category, Ross is 39 away from becoming the NCAA's all-time leader for 3-pointers made. Former Kansas State guard Laurie Koehn holds the current record with 392 treys. Ross made 103 last season.
The Hunt For 2,000
Ross needs just 164 points to break former Fresno State forward Melvin Ely's nine-year-old scoring record of 1,951 points and become the Bulldogs' all-time leading scorer. What's more, she may even end her illustrious career as the first player in Fresno State history to score 2,000 points.
"We Are Your Team!" -- Fresno State is back in action Saturday afternoon at Nevada. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
