`Dogs Finish Tournament Play

PALO ALTO, Calif. -
In a heated battle against Sac State, the doubles team consisting of senior Laura Pola and junior Marianne Jodoin fell short in Sunday's tournament.
Sac State's Clarisse Baca and Maria Melluk played neck-and-neck with the Bulldogs, but ultimately took the win, 9-7.
Jodoin also played in the Quarterfinals in singles against the tournament's No. 1 seed. The sophomore put up a valid fight against California's Jana Juricova, but was unable to advance to the Semifinals with a, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 match.
Junior's Melissa McQueen and Olga Kirpicheva were able to redeem themselves in consolation doubles. Pacific's Sarah Irvin and Regina N. Suarez lost to the Bulldogs 8-5 in Quarterfinals.
Jodoin and McQueen will head to Phoenix, Ariz. for the ASU Invitational Nov. 4-6.
