No.8 'Dogs Host Final Fall Competition

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs are prepping for their final fall competition for the 2011-12 season. It will be a west coast match-up between Fresno State and Stanford University. Stanford is only bringing its English team, so the Fresno State Western team will scrimmage themselves.

Stanford University Equestrian: The English team has not competed this fall.
The Fall Derby Party
The Fresno State equestrian team is hosting its annual fundraiser The Fall Derby Party at the Clovis Rodeo grounds on Saturday, October 29th. There will be live and silent auctions, music and dancing, great food and drinks. All of the proceeds benefit the Fresno State equestrian team. `Dogs Eighth In First Coaches Poll
Fresno State, coming off a dominant home victory over New Mexico State 15-5, debuts in the eighth ranked spot in the nation after the first Coaches Poll of the 2011-12 season. Fresno State has showed some excellent riding performances during this fall season as a team and individually. The Bulldogs have already racked up 15 MVP honors and four team victories over No. 10 New Mexico State, Delaware State, Miami of Ohio and South Dakota State.
Equestrian Shines In Home Opener Win
The Bulldog equestrian team trounced New Mexico State 15-5 and three Bulldogs picked up MVP honors in Fresno State's home opener at the Student Horse Center on Saturday. The Bulldogs' Lauren Crivelli (Horsemanship), Dayle Fischer (Equitation over Fences) and Macy Wilson (Equitation on the Flat) delivered the top performances on a day that featured strong showings throughout the event.
'Dogs Take Second At Willis Invitational
After the Bulldogs defeated South Dakota State in Round Two 9-6, Fresno State fell short to Baylor in Round Three 10-6 to conclude the tournament with the `Dogs earning a second place finish. Kimberly HewsonBudnik received four MVP honors at the tournament. With great consistency throughout the weekend averaging a score of 81, HewsonBudnik earned a Round Three-high score of 86 recording the only point for the `Dogs on the Flat against Baylor. Captain Holly Elsbernd won all three of her points at The Willis Invitational.
Mustangs Jump Past 'Dogs
The Bulldogs took the early lead in Equitation on the Flat leading 3-2, but eventually fell to the SMU Mustangs 7-4. This was the first English-only event of the season for the 'Dogs as SMU does not have a Western team.
'Dogs Sting Hornets, Fall To Aggies
The Bulldogs wrapped up their season opening weekend with a win in Dover, Del. against Delaware State defeating them 9-6, after falling to Texas A&M 12-2 earlier in the morning.Riding against the Hornets, Holly Elsbernd took the only win in Equitation on the Flat for Fresno State scoring an event-high score of 78. Elsbernd scored an event-high 83 in Equitation over Fences earning her first MVP honor of the season. Fresno State's HewsonBudnik and Beezley were the two riders to earn points for the Bulldogs against Texas A&M.
