`Dogs Host Annual Classic

FRESNO, Calif. -The Fresno State women's tennis team embarks on its final tournament of the fall season at its very own 12th annualBulldog Classic, being held Nov. 11-13 at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
Although the forecast is showing rain, the tournament will continue as planned.
At the weekend-long event the'Dogs are set to compete against players from Pacific, San Jose State, Washington, Cal Poly, Portland, Fresno Pacific, CSU Bakersfield and CSU Stanislaus.
Around 60 players areconfirmed to play, which is almost triple the amount than last year's 23 players that journeyed to Fresno for the annual tournament.
In last year's classic, the 'Dogs held a 26-5 record for both singles and doubles play. Junior's Olga Kirpicheva and Bianca Modoc and senior Laura Pola will bring their experience in the tournament in hopes of continuing the winning record.
Although junior Melissa McQueen has been in the Classic before, she will have to sit this one out, along with teammate sophomore Marianne Jodoin in order to play a full schedule in the spring.
This will be the first tournament on home grounds for sophomore Tanya Murtagh and freshman Anne Susdorf.
Play begins at 8 a.m. on Friday morning at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center located on Fresno State's campus.
