`Dogs Hit the Road Again

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball hits the road for a two-game road trip on the coast of California. The Bulldogs play at Pepperdine on Nov. 18 and then head to Cal Poly on Nov. 20. The `Dogs return to the Save Mart Center on Dec. 1 to host Oregon in the first of a three-game homestand.
Fresno State vs. Pepperdine
The Waves lead the series against the Bulldogs 7-6, but Fresno State has won five of the last six meetings. The `Dogs beat Pepperdine last year 78-65 at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State's largest margin of victory over the Waves was 23 points in 1985.
Scouting the Waves
Pepperdine is 0-1 on the season after opening the year with a loss to No. 3 Tennessee. The Waves face Cal State Fullerton in a midweek match up before hosting Fresno State in their home opener on Nov. 18. Jazmine Jackson led Pepperdine's offense against Tennessee with 17 points. The Waves forced the Lady Vol's to turn the ball over 22 times.
Fresno State vs. Cal Poly
The Bulldogs lead the overall series over the Mustangs 27-12. Cal Poly has won the last two meetings between the two programs. However, Fresno State has won 14 of the last 16 games. The last time the `Dogs beat the Mustangs was on Jan. 4, 1999.
Scouting the Mustangs
Cal Poly is off to an 0-1 start after losing to Oregon in its first game of the season. The Mustangs play San Francisco before hosting the Bulldogs on Nov. 20 at Mott Gym. Cal Poly had three players score double figures against Oregon. Jonae Ervin scored a career-high 33 points against the Ducks in the 2011-12 opener. She was 5-for-5 beyond the arc and hit 11 of 13 field goals. Ervin also made six-of-10 from the free-throw line.
We Want Some Moore
Sophomore Ki-Ki Moore scored a career-high 28 points against Santa Clara, beating her previous mark of 24 points. She scored 27 points in the second half that fueled the `Dogs 83-71 win over the Broncos. In her debut with the Bulldogs, Moore averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. She shot 50 percent from inside the arc and beyond the arc in the first two games.
Goldberg Heating Up
Senior Blakely Goldberg had a career-high performance against Santa Clara scoring 22 points and grabbing nine boards. She is averaging 13.5 points, seven rebounds and 1.5 assists per games. Goldberg has hit 9-of-13 shots inside the arc.
On The Road Again
The Bulldogs play 17 games on the road this season and are 0-1, so far away from the Save Mart Center. The `Dogs' next four games are on the road. Fresno State travels to Pepperdine, Cal Poly and SMU for a tournament over Thanksgiving. Last season, the Bulldogs complied a road record of 11-3.
`Dogs For 1-2-3
The Bulldogs are averaging eight 3-pointers a game this season. The `Dogs hit 47 percent of their three's against Santa Clara on No. 13. Junior Roise Moult leads the team with six treys so far this year. Last season, Moult hit 98 3-pointers, which was second most on the team.
