TEMPE, Ariz. -Although the Bulldogs had an uneasy day with dust blowing in every direction at ASU's Thunderbird Invitational, there is still a chance for improvement in tomorrow's tournament.
Sophomore Marianne Jodoin put up a fight in the Quarterfinals against California's Zsofi Susanyi, but fell short, 6-2, 6-2. Jodoin had a previous encounter with Susanyi at the ITA Northwest Regional and stole the show with an, 6-0, 6-4 win.
Junior Melissa McQueen teamed up with the sophomore for doubles play, but struggled to take the win against Arizona State's Michelle Brycki and Joanna Smith.
"It wasn't our best day today," Jodoin said. "But we're ready to step back and come back strong on the court tomorrow."
Fresno State continues tournament play tomorrow in the consolation round.
