`Dogs Host CSUB and Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team hosts CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 15 and Pacific on Dec. 17 in the Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs (7-3, 0-0 WAC) have won six of their last seven games and two of the `Dogs three losses are two teams who were ranked in the top 25 in the country.
Fresno State vs. CSU Bakersfield
The Bulldogs have never lost to the Roadrunners and are 4-0 against CSUB dating back to 2007. The largest margin over victory of the Runners was 39 points in 2007.
Scouting the Roadrunners
CSU Bakersfield has a 3-8 record after the first six weeks of the season. Last weekend, the Roadrunners were 1-1 after defeating Montana and losing to Weber State. Tyonna Outland leads the team with 14.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. The Runners are averaging 75.9 points per game and shooting 41 percent.
Fresno State vs. Pacific
The `Dogs lead the overall series over Pacific 23-20. Fresno State has won two games in a row over the Tigers. The Bulldogs longest win streak over Pacific was nine games.
Scouting the Tigers
Pacific has an overall mark of 4-4 heading into the sixth week of the season. Erica McK¬enzie leads the team with 14.5 points and 40 percent from the 3-point line. The Tigers are averaging 68.9 points per game and shooting 38 percent.
Bulldogs Off to Strong Start
Fresno State is off to a strong start in 2011 even with three first-year starters and seven new faces on the roster. The Bulldogs are 7-3, recording impressive wins over No. 23 Oklahoma, Oregon, Santa Clara and Cal Poly. Two of the `Dogs three losses were to opponents ranked among top 25 in the country, then No. 23 USC and No. 5 Stanford.
And the Winner is...
Sophomore Ki-Ki Moore was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 4-11. She averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game as the Bulldogs went 2-0 on the week. Moore opened the week with her second career double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six steals in a win over No. 23 Oklahoma.
Home Court Advantage
The Bulldogs have an impressive home record of 91-27 (.771) at the Save Mart Center in nine seasons. Under head coach Adrian Wiggins, Fresno State is 74-15 at home since 2006. The 'Dogs best home record was 15-1 during the 2005-06 season. The Bulldogs average 11 wins a season at home over the past eight seasons. Fresno State has 14 home games this year and is 3-1 at home so far.
