Bulldogs Face UC Riverside

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team heads to UC Riverside for its last game in 2001. The Bulldogs and Highlanders tip off on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. The `Dogs ring in the new year with a game against UT-Arlington on the road on Jan. 3 at 5 p.m.
Fresno State vs. UC Riverside
Fresno State leads the overall series over UC Riverside 9-1. The Bulldogs have outscored the Highlanders 622-441 in 10 meetings. The `Dogs have won eight-straight games over UCR dating back to 1973.
Scouting the Highlanders
UC Riverside is 2-8 this season. The Highlanders are averaging 56 points per game and 33.6 rebounds. Natasha Hadley leads the team with 12.9 points per game. She is averaging 4.6 rebounds and shooting 44 percent.
Bulldogs Off to Strong Start
Fresno State is off to a strong start in 2011 even with three first-year starters and seven new faces on the roster. The Bulldogs are 9-3, recording impressive wins over No. 23 Oklahoma, Oregon, Santa Clara and Cal Poly. Two of the `Dogs' three losses were to opponents ranked among the top 25 in the country, then No. 23 USC and No. 5 Stanford.
Bench Marks the Spot
The Bulldog bench has provided an extra spark so far in 2011. Veronica Wilson, Madison Parrish and Bree Farley are the first off the bench for the 'Dogs this season and together are averaging 20 points per game. Fresno State's bench has scored in double figures in all but two games this year. The most the bench has scored was 40 points against CSUB on Dec. 15.
On The Road Again
The Bulldogs play 17 games on the road this season and are 3-2 so far away from the Save Mart Center. Fresno State is also 1-0 in neutral territory. The 'Dogs' next hit the road on Dec. 21 to face UC Riverside. Last season, the Bulldogs compiled a road record of 11-3.
Fresno State Wins by 10 or More
Under head coach Adrian Wiggins, the Bulldogs have won 110 games by double figures. This season, Fresno State has won 5-of-12 games by 10 or more points. Fresno State defeated CSUB by 29, Oregon by 10, Tennessee State by 17, SMU by 21 and Santa Clara by 12.
'Dogs For 1-2-3
The Bulldogs are averaging 9.5 3-pointers a game this season, which is third in the coun¬try. Junior Rosie Moult leads the team with 34 three's so far this year and is 24th in the country in 3-pointers per game with 3.3. Last season, Moult hit 98 3-pointers, which was the second-most on the team.
