FRESNO, Calif. - For the third consecutive game, the Fresno State women's lacrosse team received varied offensive contributions from a number of players.
But despite having five Bulldogs find the back of the net Friday afternoon, Fresno State was unable to pull off the upset and fell to host Oregon 18-5. The Bulldogs return to Eugene on Saturday to face Jacksonville.
Margaret Wolford put Fresno State (0-3) on the board less than eight minutes into the game, but the team was already fighting an uphill battle and a 3-1 deficit. By the time freshman Rachel Minarovich scored the Bulldogs' second goal, they were down 12-2. Minarovich has scored four goals this season.
The Ducks held a commanding 13-2 lead after the first half.
Lauren Natale, Kara Concheck and Sara Weber also scored for Fresno State.
"We Are Your Team!"-- When the Bulldogs play their home-opener March 7 against Bryant, the first 100 fans through the gate will get a free Fresno State lacrosse T-shirt. The team will also be available for autographs following the game.
